I'm always a bit of a procrastinator, I confess. But wow, am I suddenly feeling the pressure. Good thing I work well under pressure. I can't believe how fast Christmas is coming. And I think it's just going to get worse.
For over a week we had a super sick baby. At times last week Guy had a fever as high as 104.5 (his fever lasted 3.5 days) and a rash that covered his body from his head to his knees followed his fever, poor kid. After three days at the doctor's office, for a total of 8.5 hours (including: 1 urine test, 3 blood tests, one bleed including big bloody spots on mom's jeans and a baby blanket, six dr. check-ins, one shot, two prescriptions, and 6 thermometers stuck in his ear), one night of hardly any sleep, a whole week of Guy hardly eating and losing over 1/2 lb, a possible allergy to antibiotics or an unexplained reason for the rash (that is still unknown)--Guy finally made it out without the dr. wanting to see him again. Whew!
So yes, I'm starting late, and that's not unusual, but at least this time I have a good excuse (for at least one week's delay). I WILL try at get cards out - whether they are Christmas, New Years, or a "Happy January" card, something will go out.
Presents? So not there yet, either. I've got a lot to do. So, what did I do? I made 150 Willy Wonka Balls (yum!!!), 2 nursing covers, and still have no ideas for what to get my husband. At least I got my visiting teaching done yesterday. Baby steps, right?

You sound busy! I'm so glad Guy is much better now. Good luck on Christmas shopping. I would offer suggestions, but I don't have any. Sometimes, shopping for husbands and parents is like pulling teeth...sometimes. Hope it works out. When are you leaving again for your trip?
I am so, so sorry Guy has been so sick! I hate it how everyone seems to get sick right when you are ready for fun! Did he have roseola possibly? All of my kids had it--several days of high fevers, followed by a rash that covers the body. Anyhow, I hope he is back to 100%! Good luck with the Christmas shopping!
I am so glad Guy is doing better. Do they know what he had? It does sound like roseola.
I agree it was probably Roseola which is a virus, no antibiotic needed. What kind of doctor are you seeing?
I thought it was roseola, too - after some internet research the day the rash broke out (it was my diagnosis :)). When the doc saw the rash he said it was much more pronounced than roseola normally is. So, he didn't think it was that. I was at the BYU Health Center (gotta love that BYU Health Insurance).
After the virus Guy's neutraphils (sp?) were down, so we were on watch from Friday to Monday with instructions that if he got a temp of just 100 degrees we were to go to the emergency room immediately. The dr. was kind of stumped, which actually helped him pay attention to us, I think. He was amazing with his attention, and called to check up on him, even. So for that, I was grateful.
What a tough week! It actually sounded like Fifth's disease to me. When my kids had that, the rash was much worse than a roseola rash.
I made the Willy WOnka balls too! Great recipe. I LOVE them.
NICE Caitlin. I'm not worried about random hits from where-ever, just when it's a new location that is checking our blog just about EVERY hour and at random times like 2,3 and 5am!!! It was a little crazy. But it turned out to be one my little brother's friends who was home for Christmas and bored... which is still weird but whatever! The semester starts in like a WEEK!
I'm glad Guy is doing better. I've taken my oldest to the BYU Health Center and I'm convinced that the doctor's there are the worst out there. Once I got different insurance and took Dallin to a different doctor in Provo (Dr. Brown), he knew RIGHT AWAY what the problem was and even had an info. sheet for me! Anyway, good luck enduring crappy doctors..... (sorry about the rant...)
